Project: The Meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youths with Disabilities in All Domains of CBR
Event: Monthly Meeting of Caregivers Resource Center (CRC) – Khorincha
Date: 23 November 2025
Venue: Khorincha Caregivers Resource Center (CRC), House of Chanchal

Ashraf Foundation organized the monthly meeting of the Khorincha Caregivers Resource Center (CRC) under its CBR programme to enhance caregiver engagement and strengthen support systems for children and youths with disabilities.

The meeting began with greetings from the CBR Facilitator, followed by the presentation of previous meeting resolutions by the Community CBR Intern. Toufa Begum was unanimously elected as President to conduct the meeting. With her approval, the session formally started with caregivers sharing updates on the health, education, and overall wellbeing of their children and youths with disabilities.

During the discussion, several caregivers mentioned that their children were suffering from seasonal colds. Participants emphasized the importance of timely treatment and agreed to seek medical support from the Chaugachha Upazila Health Complex following doctors’ advice.

Caregivers also shared individual concerns. One caregiver requested educational support for her son studying in Grade 8, while another expressed concern about her daughter’s ongoing illness despite receiving medical care. Ashraf Foundation representatives assured that these needs would be followed up through coordination with project management, donor organizations, and the Upazila Social Services Office, particularly regarding educational support and disability registration services.

The CRC continues to serve as a disability-friendly platform where caregivers can discuss challenges, referral services, early identification and intervention, and the rights of persons with disabilities. Key discussion topics also included CRC resource management and winter health awareness for caregivers and project participants.

During the meeting, CRC President Toufa Begum expressed her appreciation for Ashraf Foundation’s continued support, stating that the CRC platform is helping caregivers become more united and better prepared to support the development and inclusion of their children and youths with disabilities.

Conclusion

The meeting concluded with active participation from all caregivers. The President requested Ashraf Foundation to continue addressing priority issues affecting children with disabilities in future meetings. The session ended with a vote of thanks to all participants for their engagement and commitment.

Impact:
Through regular CRC meetings, caregivers are becoming more aware, connected, and empowered to support the health, education, and social inclusion of children and youths with disabilities.
